Flights - Several Airlines fly from USA direct to Singapore or 1 stop (Tokyo, Seoul, Taipei, Hong Kong)

  • Singapore Airlines - non-stop from Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, JFK/New York and Newark
  • United Airlines: San Francisco(0 stop), Seattle(1stop), Los Angeles (1 stop) (Stop is SFO outbound, Tokyo return)
  • All Nippon Air:  Los Angeles (1 stop/Tokyo)
  • Japan Air: SFO or LAX  (1stop/Tokyo) (pricey starts at $1583)
  • Korean Air:  Los Angeles & Dallas(1 stop/Seoul)
  • Cathay Pacific: Los Angeles (1 stop/Hong Kong)
  • Eva Airways:  Dallas (DFW) (1 stop/Taipei)**Could be helpful to any DB racers going on to Taiwan
  • $777 to $2300 depending on additional bags and seat selection fees.
  • Shortest flight from USA will be @ 16 hours -- watch for the +1 or +2 on your search as that is how many days later you will be landing!  Singapore is 16 hours ahead of West Coast USA!

Car Rentals >> Don't do it!
  • Car Share services similar to Uber and Lyft exist in Singapore - download their apps and use them!
  • MTR - local transportation is efficient and inexpensive, much is underground with air-conditioning and even shopping
  • MTR will take a debit/credit card for each ride so purchase of travel pass is not required.
  • Hotel parking is expensive and mostly valet
Other Information
  • Since Covid, most everywhere accepts credit/debit cards --event the Hawker Market stalls

  • You should get some cash for being around town-best rate is at the airport however ATM's in the city will allow use of USA Debit/Credit cards

  • Cell phones work but check with your carrier to start international service

  • Must bring bug spray.

  • Tap Water is fine to drink, bring your water bottle!  Fill stations are available on the street around the city

  • No Visa needed but need to have more than 6 months on your passport from the time you arrive.

  • Bring all medications with their prescription info.
