2025 USAORCA National Sprint Championship - October 3, 4, 5
USAORCA's member Pacific-Northwest-Outrigger Racing Canoe Association (PNW-ORCA) will be hosting the 2025 National Sprint Championship on October 3, 4 and 5th at Vancouver Lake Regional Park, Vancouver, Washington! Don't let the name throw you off track, this venue is less than 15 miles from downtown Portland, Oregon and PDX airport!
The Nationals will include V1 and V6 in all divisions matching the divisions and distances of the IVF Sprint program. V12 will not be included due to time constraints.
Registration will be open to paddlers within the mainland United States with registration fee of $100 to participate in as many events as the paddler is eligible. V1 entry is by age division and will be selected during registration. Only one V1 race per paddler due to time constraints. Team entries will be registered by coach of the V6 entry with the 6 names provided during registration.
As was done in 2023, the results of this National Championship will qualify crews and V1 individuals to enter under USAORCA for the 2026 IVF World Sprint Championship to be held in Singapore. USAORCA is anticipating 3-V1 entries and 6-V6 entries per division will be the QUOTA for Singapore. Event dates will be August 17-31, 2026, which includes course training days and opening ceremony, more detailed schedule to be provided soon. Invitations for Club Crew and V1 entries will be sent out following these Nationals while Elite Team will be selected through the Elite Team program.
For anyone interested in qualifying for the Singapore Elite Team (junior and open), paddlers MUST race a V1 500 meter race at this event.
USA Elite Coach Selected for Singapore USA Race Committee has completed a search for the Elite team coach for Singapore 2026. April Zilg has been selected and is making plans for the National's 500 meter V1 evaluation, camp dates, coaching plan and on-line tracking of progress. The attached document covers the rules for this event. The course document will be 6 lanes for all events (maximum) and lane 1 will be along shore increasing outward (flip of the course diagram presented). | Event Dates:
| The Site: Vancouver Lake Regional Park can be seen as you fly into PDX (if your'e arriving by plane) and is just 15 miles from the airport or downtown Portland. The lake has a permanent Rowing Club who will be assisting PNW-ORCA in hosting the event and there is an open beach front for viewing the races. Accommodation: Hotels are available near the town of Vancouver, WA and near the PDX Airport. Renal homes are also available in the area - gather your team to share the space! A vehicle is recommended as the park is not walking distance to amenities. | Registration: Registration opened June 15 and will close September 15. Fees must also be paid by close.
